We’ve lived in our new home for a couple of month. It is not an exaggeration to say that almost every day someone stops in the middle of the street in front of our driveway to stare at our house. Yes! It is stunning. That’s a lot to say for an 1800 sq. ft. low medium priced home. And that’s just the exterior. The interior is just as impressive.
It’s not often that you can describe the experience of building a custom home as a pleasure but that was our experience with Brothers Construction of Athens, TX.
We took the word of a friend and gave Scott a call. We had a great first meeting and never looked back. I now consider the Fullingim family our friends.
I was sold when Scott showed us the budgets of several other homes they had built. Not the price tag but the actual budgets by category. Their transparency is real as is their honesty. Once we settled on our budget we were assured that was the final price and that it included everything. They stuck to their word.
We were not expecting the level of extras that came with that budget. It included cased windows, real tile in the bathrooms, custom cabinets all around with granite countertops. We even turned down some of the features that normally came with our budget range. It was a fully custom home. They will probably not like it that I am mentioning the floor to ceiling windows in the Great Room that overlooked the covered porch. I think they did us a favor there.
No construction project is without issues and we had ours. There was certainly weather to work around. We had one major challenge; I had purchased the land on my own and was lead to believe it included all utilities. It turned out not to include electricity! It could have been a deal breaker because the power company had no plans for our area. Thankfully Scott used his contacts and influence as a respected builder in Athens to fix that problem. We see it as a minor miracle.
Brothers Construction has established long relationships with quality sub-contractors. The result is quality construction in a timely manner. Everyone who enters our home comments on the beauty of the design and quality of construction.
We were strangers to Athens, and our new friends Scott, Brandon and their great dad Jim have really made us look good! If you don’t use Brothers Construction in Athens, you’ve made a mistake.
